Job Description:

HOYA Vision Care Product category consists of the following areas. Design, Material, Coating, Function and Photochromic. The Category Manager takes a leading role in the definition of an active development pipeline for the product category of respective category for the different lens brands of Hoya Vision Care, to drive business development and growth. You will stimulates consumer centric development and help to improve operational implementation efficiencies to achieve the highest speed to the market.

Main responsibilities:

• Ensures Product Development Roadmap within Lens Design category is aligned to Business
  targets. Works closely with R&D & Brand Team
• Develop and drive key concept differentiators by category trend foresight (customer,
  consumer and technology)
• Management of the global product launch calendar and portfolio of the responsible categoryacross the different lens brands
• Identify product(group) opportunities by careful survey of tracking technology trend and
• Competitive benchmarking vs. competition/market trend and within portfolio, and reporting (to
  R&D and Global marketing organisation) in cooperation with Brand Team
• Suggest and support monitor tests and market research initiatives relevant to the category
  with R&D to Market Insight and Research team
• Signal new product opportunities and contribute to the creation of business cases for these
  products – drive high potential opportunities with priority

New Product Development (NPD)
• Participate in Project Management Office (PMO) and brand launch projects, support
  execution and rollout
• Pro-actively manage NPD process with R&D and/or participate stage gate review (SGR)
  meeting and design review (DR) meeting
• Create new product concept statements from technical standpoint for Brand team and
  support Brand team for technical validation and substantiation of product marketing
• Technical and commercial definition of new product concepts with relevant R&D departments
  and (global) commercial teams

Post product launch
• Keep track of, guide and support regional roll out of (strategic) global launches and guide on
  portfolio modifications
• Review the positioning of products and make recommendations for adjustment and further
  development – drive active development of the different categories for each lens brand

Position requirements:

 and local level
• Experience working in a global multinational and inter-cultural matrix organization, where you
  have proven to possess strong & proactive stakeholder management skills
• A strong personality who likes to be part of an organization in constant development
• Demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness, showing constant drive for improvement
• The ability to prioritize your time and activities, within a multiple priority and deadline-oriented
• A positive personality with a high level of emotional and cross-cultural intelligence.

Work Experience & languages
• Optical industry experience is strongly preferred
• Bachelor’s degree/qualification in Marketing/Business/ Sales or related area
• At least 10 years of experience in Marketing and Sales roles, with international exposure in
  multinational company environment • Good analytical skills and commercial acumen required • English – excellent, both written and verbal.

• Workplace: Home office and international travel willingness, work at one of the European
   offices is possible
